CMU comes into the MAC Volleyball Tournament tonight as the #6 seed, and hosts the Miami Red Hawks, the #11 seed. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm at Finch Fieldhouse.
CMU finished the regular season with a .500 record in both their overall, and conference record, going 14-14 (8-8 MAC). While Miami finished up at 10-19 (5-11).
CMU is lead offensively by senior Lauren Krupsky who comes in averaging 3.34 kills per game, along with junior Kaitlyn Schultz who averages 2.77 kills per game. On defense, the Chippewas are anchored by senior Lisa Johnson, who enters the tournament getting 3.17 dig per set.
Central won the regular season match between the two teams, 3-0, also at Finch Fieldhouse, and were led by Krupsky and Schultz in that match.
Tonight is also the second of three student pick up events, where students can get their free ticket to the Men’s Basketball home opener on December 1 against Temple. At last report, there were less than 600 student tickets left. Doors open at 6pm, and tickets will be handed out during the entire match, or until tickets run out.
